Mat Husain bin Sabar

Mr. Husain Sabar has served for 18 years with the zakat institution in the state of Selangor under MAIS, and has held senior positions including Head of Agent & Collection Processing, Head of Asnaf Development (welfare recipients), Head of Administration, Head of Zakat Academy (AZAS), Head of District Operations and Head of Methods & Organization in the Corporate Development Department.

Throughout his tenure, he has spearheaded the development of zakat collection infrastructure through banking and postal agents, established welfare housing programs for asnaf and community development in various districts, and driven the Business Process Improvement and Reengineering initiative which reduced the processing time of zakat assistance applications for a short period of time in order to support the welfare of asnaf who are eligible to receive zakat distribution. He was part of the founding team behind the zakat distribution management system.

He holds an Executive Diploma in Human Resource Management from the University of Malaya and a Bachelor of Management with Honours from the Open University of Malaysia, along with certifications in ISO 9001 quality management and internal auditing. Now he wants to share his experience, knowledge and innovative work spirit in the field of business development consulting by helping organizations across the training, technology, social service management and Islamic finance sectors to continue to be more competitive for the benefit of society.
