Dato' Sri Dr. Abu Raihan bin Wan Jaafar, PhD

Dato' Sri Dr. Abu Raihan bin Wan Jaafar began his career in 1975 with a theoretical and practical training program in the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery, passing with excellence and going on to gain extensive exposure to heavy machinery management. He later moved into technical sales, managing business activities with major regional clients across the oil and gas sector, and served as Director of Sales overseeing engineering services for the industry.

After more than a decade in oil and gas, he founded his own business group, serving as Group Executive Chairman for over 30 years to date. Under his leadership, the group has grown into a diversified portfolio of subsidiaries spanning engineering, marine services, industrial supply, construction, and consumer products — successfully navigating the group through the economic crises of 1984 and 1997, and trading with partners across more than 50 countries in North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, a Master of Science in Occupational Safety & Health, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Management. Beyond business, he is active in civic and educational associations, has served in leadership roles within Malaysia's civil defence and hovercraft associations, and has been a longstanding patron of rugby in Kelantan, supporting the state team through multiple national championship wins.
